The VIP House: Luxury and style straight from the 80s
In these explorations, we’ve shared many stories about Kitsault’s residents. But what if you were a visitor with a professional background—such as an RCMP officer, dentist, or BC Hydro contractor? Chances are, you would have stayed in this stunning home.
Located on the northeast side of the neighborhood, it sits prominently atop a hill overlooking the townsite. It was (and still is) the most luxurious home of them all. Every single item has been meticulously maintained since its revival 17 years ago.
During the town’s rediscovery and cleanup in 2005, one of the caretakers chose this home as their base of operations to oversee the community’s structures. They later relocated to a hilltop property with a breathtaking waterfront view.
It must have been an exciting experience to stay in this house. Its communal warmth reminded me of a B&B I once stayed at in Uranium City—full of life, comfort, and a sense of connection within an isolated setting.
Something is very off with one of the bathrooms - can you spot it? (hint: its something does that not belong in a bathroom ever.)
