A1 Salvage: A graveyard of aging iron.

For years if you took highway 16A and headed west outside of town, you’d be greeted along the way with a unique road side business. A1 Salvage was always and still will remain a intriguing mystery. It sat silently, old city buses, trucks and cars alike - rotting away into oblivion. The interesting part - Neary a single human soul to be found during my times wandering the grounds.

Whether it was neglected, forgotten, or just left to mother nature is a question i still ponder to this day.

Then in 2022 a sudden change. The property was cleared out of its salvage, fenced off and marked for demolition - rezoning for a future storage facility. In those last moments I was able to capture the chaos of the small garage and its decayed sibling, the small stand alone home beside it.

Weeks later the remaining structures were knocked down and hauled away. A mystery bulldozed in the name of progress.
